Get creative with Dye Sublimation printing:

All over printing, or Dye Sublimation printing as it’s sometimes known, is one of the most creative printing techniques around as it allows you to make the very most of the entire garment and print your designs in vibrant, bold and fun colours with a variety of different effects. Sublimation printing is more commonly used in the printed fashion industry and it can be used to liven up printed sportswear products. However, in reality, all over printing is an incredibly dynamic way of printing on a host of products and this should be used more regularly by brands and businesses when creating promotional merchandise and personalised workwear. In this article, I’m going to take you through the many different product options and things which you can do with sublimation printing so that you can get the most out of your printed products and tailor them to your considerable needs

So, the first thing that we need to look at is…

Dye sublimation printing allows you to print your design onto your chosen garment by using a special transfer paper. Firstly, you must prepare your designs so that they are print ready, which is then printed onto the transfer paper using a unique sublimation printer. Once the design is ready for printing, it is then carefully positioned on the garment and fixed with a heat press. The colours which are used within the design should be dark as you want them to contrast with the colour of the garment. This printing technique allows for full-colour designs to be printed incredibly quickly and it’s a fantastic option for creating personalised sportswear due to the vibrant colours and the soft finish.

Personalised sublimation T-Shirts:

Do you want your promotional merchandise to have the ‘WOW’ factor? If the answer to this question is “yes” then sublimation T-Shirts could be just the answer. Thanks to this printing technique, we can guarantee that your printed T-Shirts will come out looking fresh due to the vibrant, unique effect that sublimation printing can provide. It’s a given that when at networking events and also corporate events, you need to offer promotional merchandise that the attendees are going to want to take away – something that is going to catch their attention and drawn them over to your stall. Sublimation T-Shirt printing is the key. Not only will they attract potential clients at events, but they’ll also serve as brilliant publicity material outside of the event when worn by the recipient.

Personalised Mugs:

Printed T-Shirts are one of the best products that you can offer potential clients, but there’s other options that could be printed using sublimation. Personalised mugs are one such example and they look fantastic with an all over print and allows you to create incredibly interesting designs which cover the entirety of the mug. As a promotional product, mugs are something that no one has enough of, and if you offer a mug which has been customised using dye sublimation printing, they are bound to fly off your event stall.

If you want to create something which is even more impressive, get yourself heat sensitive colour changing mugs. Also created using dye sublimation, these personalised mugs are super-fun and will be gratefully received by all of the customers and clients. Appearing to be a plain mug with one block colour, when it the mug is filled with a hot drink, the colour slowly fades, revealing the design that was hidden below. They could be just what your latest marketing campaign is missing!

Personalised wristbands:

Personalised wristbands are becoming an incredibly popular item amongst different companies, charities and brands as they allow you to get a very large quantity of promotional merchandise printed at an incredibly low cost. The great thing about branded wristbands is that if they are printed and are attractive enough, the recipients will be more likely to wear them on a daily basis, your promotional products will then gain high-visbility and reach a much wider audience than other promotional products such as printed business cards. Furthermore, if you get your wristbands printed using dye sublimation, they will be even more alluring. This can be done on fabric wristbands, making this the ideal product and printing technique for festival and music event organisers.

Sublimation printed products our brands are offering:

Russell has a collection of brightly coloured 65% polyester, 35% cotton T-Shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and jogging bottoms which can all be printed on using dye sublimation. We’d usually recommend that you use a white, 100% polyester garment, but with this stylish, marl coloured collection by Russell, it is now possible to print using dye sublimation on polyester blends.

B&C Collection also has a fantastic range of ultra soft polyester mix T-Shirts that can be printed on using dye sublimation. If you’re looking for a vibrant, more vintage look, they also offer a super-soft white, 100% polyester T-Shirt that allows you to produce photographic quality prints and unleash your creativity.

Eco-friendly all over printing options:

The great thing about using sublimation printing is that the same print can be reused a number of times, saving the amount of ink used in the printing process. Due to the fact that the ink is transferred from the paper onto the garment, no ink is lost or washed down the sink. This removes the risk of water pollution and making this technique eco-friendly.

However, there is a downside. As sublimation printing gets the best results when it’s used on synthetic materials, such as polyester, although the printing technique is eco-friendly, the product which the printing is done on is not eco-friendly. But don’t fear just yet, there is another option.

Continental Clothing does offer a bespoke printing service on larger, bulk orders. This makes an interesting option for larger companies or brands who want to print unique products for fashion resale and promotional merchandise purposes. Usually when people think about all over printing they think of dye sublimation. However, as mentioned above, this is only available with the use of synthetic fabrics. If you’re looking for a 100% eco-friendly printing technique and products, consider using this bespoke service. Continental allows you to choose the eco-friendly fabric that you like, it then dyes the entire roll before screen printing you design over the fabric. After the print process has been completed, the fabric is then cut and sewn into your garment, producing a 100% eco-friendly, totally unique product.

This is a printing technique to have fun with. As mentioned before, there are so many different products which you can experiment with.
