Landing Forty-Two at the Leadenhall Building is located at the heart of London, with Liverpool Street, Fenchurch Street, Bank and Monument Stations being just a walk away. The beautiful venue is accessed at external-facing high-speed lifts, which will get you to the venue in just about 30 seconds.
This venue is London’s highest dedicated event space. It offers over 5,000 sq. ft. of space, catering for conferences and receptions for up to 300 guests, and can seat up to 220 for lunches and dinners. Landing Forty-Two is commonly called “The Cheesegrater,” and, as it is located on the 42nd floor and has floor-to-ceiling windows, it offers a panoramic view of the Thames and the London skyline.
The building itself was designed by Richard Rogers and developed by British Land and Oxford Properties. The building was designed to have views of London’s major landmarks, including St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Palace of Westminster, which gives it its tapering shape. It was also designed with consideration to a sustainable approach essential to delivering high quality buildings, thus it has an efficient use of energy and resources. The biggest part of the sustainability is the triple-layer glass ‘skin.’ The outer layer of glass is separated from a double-glazed inner layer cavity that contains blinds to respond to the sun’s movement, which is how the building is able to stay cool during the warm summer months.
Part of their appeal is their wide range of seasonal menus that are offered by their catering partners, Create Food & Party Design. They are always event-ready not only with their food but also with their production, which includes that latest LED colour changing atmospheric lighting plus a full sound system.
After all this information about Landing Forty-Two, you may have a couple questions about booking the venue. Hopefully we can answer all of the questions you have and may not even know you have here:
This highly-sought after venue is a private event space, and thus is not open to the public for either restaurant or table bookings. In addition, viewing the space for events is only available by invitation. However, should you decide to book the venue, they have a capacity total of 333 people in the venue, which needs to include catering staff, security, entertainers, and the event management staff. So try to plan for 300 people in a standing reception and 250 for a seated one.
While Landing Forty-Two cannot be a wedding venue, they definitely can do wedding receptions and private parties, but keep in mind they will be reviewed individually through applications. If you’re planning an event that would go past 1 am, you will also not be able to host your event there because they cannot operate past 1am.
Even though you can’t stay past 1am, there is still plenty to be done at the venue if you’re planning a celebration there. Dancing is certainly permitted and Landing Forty-Two partners with Vibration Group to offer you the best DJ/Dance floor lighting and sound. And while live bands are not permitted due to sound level restrictions, you may have acoustic live music, and if you’re looking for an acoustic performer then know that the venue partners with Fullcircle.
So while you’re planning your next event, hopefully at Landing Forty-Two, make sure to get all of your personalized invitation cards, party favours, and accessories here at Garment Printing!
