If you’ve followed my other posts you’ll understand that I’ve been scouring the globe looking for, what I consider being, the best T-Shirts all time.
I set myself the challenge of finding 50 different T-Shirts and today we are finally touching the top 10 so the end is almost in sight!
Without any further delay, though, I’m going to round up numbers 20-11 and, as always, if you think I’ve missed something out or if you disagree with any of my choices, let me know in the comments below.
Without any further delay – let’s go!
ADIDAS was founded in Germany by Adi Dassler and has grown to become one of the most famous sports brands ever made. Over the years, ADIDAS’s logo has gone through different changes from the original flower-esque to the modern 3 stripes.
Throughout all of the changes, though, the original logo has remained a favourite amongst fans of ADIDAS clothing and it has led to other ranges of clothing such as the ADIDAS originals range.
For this reason, I’m going to put the original ADIDAS T-Shirt into my top 20.
19. AUSTIN 3:16 SAYS:
1996, Stone Cold Steve Austin beats Jake “The Snake” Roberts and coins the phrase ‘Austin 3:16’ to mock Robert’s recital of John 3:16 before matches.
Fast forward 20 years and the phrase is still as popular as ever and Stone Cold has gone on to become one of the most legendary and famous wrestlers of all time.
He was a favourite of mine and many others throughout the world which have seen his T-Shirt sales sky-rocket and seen the Austin 3:16 T-Shirts make it into my top 20 at number 19.
18. IN BRIGHTEST DAY, IN BLACKEST NIGHT:
Superhero T-Shirts are always massive sellers and as someone who is into their comic books and their superhero’s, they were always going to enter into my list of top T-Shirts.
This superhero entry comes in the form of Green Lantern. The classic green T-Shirt which features the Green Lantern logo in the middle was a favourite of mine due to the simplicity of the design and the colour of the T-Shirt.
While Green Lantern isn’t the highest placed superhero T-Shirt on my list, it certainly deserves to be in the top 20.
17. ENTER SANDMAN:
Band T-Shirts are always popular, some T-Shirts are so popular that even if you’re not a big fan of the band you feel almost compelled to still buy the T-Shirts. This can be said for the historic bands.
Metallica definitely comes into the category of historic bands – and deservedly so. But the Metallica T-Shirts popularity was boosted when it was worn by none other than Beavis from ‘Beavis and Butt-head’.
Whether you’re a fan of Beavis and Butt-head of if you’re a fan of Metallica – I don’t think anyone can deny that Metallica T-Shirts are one of the most popular band T-Shirts throughout the world.
16. I AM A REAL AMERICAN:
Another wrestling T-Shirt makes it into my top 20 and this time, it’s an entry from Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan is a celebrity in his own right, he’s been wrestling for decades, has his own TV show and has made appearances in films as well – making him one of the most popular wrestlers to have ever graced the ring.
Hulk Hogan helped to promote an entire genre of entertainment which ran between 1983 and 2012 and he’s still as famous today – even if it’s not entirely for the right reasons. I also firmly believe that most people who have bought a Hulkamania T-Shirt have ended up making repeat orders because they’ve attempted to the famous Hulk T-Shirt rip.
15. THREE WOLF MOON T-SHIRT:
This Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt isn’t on my list because of its design. Instead, the Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt found fame on the internet after it went on sale on Amazon and because the subject of many hilarious reviews.
Thanks to the reviews, the T-Shirt became an internet sensation and helped to push sales of the T-Shirt to levels that no one would have ever expected.
If you haven’t checked out some of the brilliant, comical reviews of this T-Shirt I suggest that you head on over to Amazon to check some of them out – be warned, though, you can spend hours reading through them.
14. HEROES IN A HALF SHELL:
My childhood was spent not only watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but also trying to recreate them in the school playground.
The turtles were one of the most popular kids TV shows back in the day and were adored by many fans. Following on from the TV shows and early movies, the franchise has had a reboot with recent new movies where you can expect sales of the classic T-Shirts to reach even higher heights.
It’ll also lead to many-a-debate about which one is your favourite turtle (P.S mine was always Donatello).
13. IS IT A BIRD? NO! IS IT A PLANE? NO! IT’S….
Superman has been around for decades (and not just because he’s immortal). Television shows, comic books and a seemingly endless stream of movies have made Superman quite possibly the most famous superhero of all time.
Following on from the Christopher Reeves movies, the franchise has had a revamp in recent years and, following the new Batman vs Superman film, we can expect even more merchandise featuring the iconic Man of Steel logo to hit the stores.
12: IT’S THE BAT-MAN!
Who’d have thought that a man dressing as a giant bat and running around the streets of a fictional city cleaning up the crime-ridden streets could become so famous?
Many comic book enthusiasts will tell you that Batman is the ultimate superhero – he doesn’t have magic powers, he can be defeated and his arch-enemy – The Joker – is one of the best villains of all time.
Following on from the Christopher Nolan Batman franchise, popularity in the caped crusader has never been higher and this has seen merchandise sales for the Dark Knight grow and grow.
11. I’M GOING TO ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT:
I’m sure that too many it’s no surprise that band T-Shirts feature a lot in my top 50 T-Shirts list. Band merchandise makes up a huge portion of T-Shirt sales and this is a trend that’s never going to change.
Starchild, The Demon, Space Ace and Catman are some of the most famous albums in the Rock and Roll world and has helped the platform shoes and leather wearing rock Gods sell over 100 million albums worldwide.
The merchandise is even more popular, as many festival goers and music lovers are known to wear KISS T-Shirts without being fans of the band.
So, this completes the list from 50 – 10 which means that my next post will focus solely on the top 10. So stay tuned to this blog to see which T-Shirts make up the top 10 and also find out which T-Shirt I crown number 1.
Let me know in the comments below which T-Shirts you think should make it to the top 10 and also let me know if you agree or disagree with any of the decisions that I’ve made.
